Stronger Feet, Better Dancers
An interactive and educational 90-minute Workshop that combines dance, strength and balance training to help dancers perform better, feel stronger, avoid injuries and keep dancing for years to come.
About the Workshop
Who I am:
I’ve been a dance teacher for nearly twenty years and a personal trainer and strength & conditioning coach for fifteen. I’m still dancing myself, and the older I get, the more I’ve seen how strength and balance training keep my body capable of doing what I love. My background in both dance and fitness allows me to bridge the gap between artistry and athleticism — helping dancers understand how to use their bodies efficiently and safely.
What the workshop is:
Stronger Feet, Better Dancers is an interactive and educational 90-minute session where we blend movement games, strength drills, and practical education. Dancers learn how to activate, strengthen, and stabilise their feet and lower limbs — improving turnout, balance, control, jumps, and overall performance. Everything is designed to be fun, hands-on, and directly applicable to what they do in class and on stage.
Who it’s for:
The workshop is ideal for dancers aged nine and up — from developing students building awareness to advanced performers refining their technique. It suits ballet, jazz, contemporary, and acro students alike, and can be tailored to any level. Studio owners love that it helps improve both performance and student retention, because dancers who feel strong, capable, and pain-free are the ones who keep dancing.
What They Learn:
In the workshop, dancers will:
-
Learn how to use their feet and lower body more effectively
-
Build strength, control, and balance for better performance
-
Improve jumps, turns, and stability
-
Reduce injury risk and speed up recovery
-
Understand why strength training matters for dancers
